Issues

Tax Relief

Smaller taxes stimulate the economy by allowing businesses to thrive and consumers to be less burdened financially.  Raising taxes hurts working people and scares away jobs.  When we attract businesses to Arizona, we create jobs and reduce unemployment.

Support of Small Business

The strength of the American People lies in their ability to achieve the American Dream.  Through hard work and personal initiative anyone can be successful.  We can facilitate this dream of entrepreneurship and the reward and spirit of free enterprise through tax relief for small businesses, curbing of government regulations, and encouraging low interest loans for those starting a new business.

Border Security

Immigration has been an important part of our nation’s success.  The current system, however, puts up barriers to the best and brightest, yet those without skill or education are able to walk across the border.  This flood of those entering our country illegally  is a tremendous drain on our economy due to the effect on our health care system, education, and penal system.  Many foreign workers do not pay taxes and send their earnings out of the country.  We cannot afford to wait for the federal government to act, but do what we can in Arizona to remedy the problem by closing the floodgates and encouraging legal immigration.

Second Amendment Rights

A country that does not have the right to bear arms becomes a target for crime and becomes vulnerable  to enemies within and outside of our borders.  It’s vital that we protect all the rights provided by the Bill of Rights.  Our founding fathers were wise to recognize how fragile our freedoms can be if not protected.

Private Property Rights

I will fight to protect individuals from the abuse of eminent domain.  When exercised properly, eminent domain is designed for the benefit of all citizens.  It should not be used for the purpose of rewarding private industry.

Personal Responsibility

In a democratic society, citizens should be allowed to govern themselves while abiding by the laws that protect everyone.  The government does not exist to provide us with a livelihood, nor should it control our destiny.  It should provide the security and freedom that enable families to make the best decisions for themselves regarding health care, education, retirement plans, and the like, while allowing special consideration for the disadvantaged and afflicted.  As citizens of a democracy, we cherish the right to vote.  We should always be informed of issues that affect our lives, and exercise our voting privilege and responsibility to assure the best representation at all levels of government.
